RED DOT PISTOL FUNDAMENTALS: APRIL 25 @ 9AM

Mike Comella is leading this fundamentals class for those of you seeking to transition from iron sights to pistol mounted optics. Without a clear understanding of how to maximize the advantages of a pistol mounted red dot, you risk becoming a slower shooter, and even ineffective. Mike will show you how to “acquire” your dot every time, and how forgiving the sight picture really is. He’ll also look at choice of dot, battery life, zero distance, mounting and possible pitfalls including the effects of rain/water/dirt. If you’ve just joined the pistol mounted optics community, or you’ve never had a formal red dot lesson, then this class will be transformative for you.

LEVEL 1 PRECISION SCOPED RIFLE: MAY 2/3

DEFENSIVE RIFLE/PISTOL CLINIC: MAY 8 10:30 aM

Join Ben for this dynamic class working on steel and paper incorporating movement into and out of shooting positions, as well as working around barricades and through apertures. You will very quickly move from line shooting to positional shooting, utilizing transitions across multiple target arrays. This is a physical class requiring solid gun handling and safety skills. Round count is 200.

ALL DAY RIFLE/PISTOL EVOLUTIONS: MAY 9 @ 9AM - 4PM

This is a full day rifle/pistol class working on specific evolutions such as the accelerator drill, El Prez, 1-5 drill and ORT. Each of these requires mastery of presentations, mag changes, trigger control and manipulations, as well as understanding offsets as they relate to your optics. The day will take the form of shooting a particular evolution to gain a baseline, then breaking down the components and practicing those, before shooting the evolution once more - hopefully much improved. Round count is 300 rifle, 300 pistol.

CHANGE OF BEHAVIOR: AERIAL SHOOT MAY 16

Tony is back to teach our favorite, most-versatile and effective of firearms platforms - the shotgun. This class will comprehensively equip you with the knowledge and skills to cover ammo selection and performance, holds and presentation, semi vs pump considerations. recoil management and much more. Expect to be shooting on paper, cardboard, steel and even drywall to observe the effects and patterning of your shotgun. We have resident shotgun experts with a ton of knowledge and expertise to pass on.

DEFENSIVE MINDSET PISTOL 2.0: MAY 23 @ 1PM

This defensive mindset class examines the decision-making process behind defensive engagements as well as staying in the fight, particularly when things don’t go as planned. DMP 2.0 deals with malfunctions and manipulations, working on the limitations those factors impose on the shooter. We’ll look at how to engrain life-saving immediate action drills, and give you concurrent courses of action, so you are less likely to become a victim. Round count is 300.

LEVEL 2 PRECISION SCOPED RIFLE: MAY 30/31

This is Level 2 class with the pre-requisite of having attended the Level 1 class (with exceptions if you have attended a recent Precision Rifle fundamentals-style class), Class syllabus covers remind/revise of the core subjects of Level 1 (Zero, scope theory, MOA vs MIL, holdovers vs dialing, spotting, wind calls and Kestrel/ballistic apps) before moving on to positional shooting and ballistic theory as it applies to time of flight over greater distances. Our brothers at Change of Behavior bring you this 2 day CQB course in a custom shoot house on private property. Location is off hwy 76 near the 15 in N County San Diego. We cover 2 man & 4 man entries dealing with dead space and hallways. This is the ultimate team building fun. Read and react, and test your skills. Instructors spent decades in special operations conducting these exercises.

Equipment needed is an Ar15 platform with a sling and eye protection. Any other gear you have is more than welcome to bring. A conversion kit bolt for your rifle and ammunition is provided.

Ben is teaching this dynamic class focussing on three core components of defensive shooting: (i) movement into and out of shooting positions; (ii) barricade and aperture shooting; and (iii) fundamental manipulations such as mag changes. Each component will be practiced separately, then the final hour will feature relays and evolutions to combine all skill sets. Round count is 300.

RIFLE REFRESHER: JUNE 6 @ 2 PM

3 hours of fundamental rifle skills to cover ready positions, presentations, transitions and mag changes. For those who haven’t shot rifle in a while this is an invaluable refresher, and for those wishing to maintain currency, this is a great workshop to hone your skills. Round count is 250.

PERFORMANCE pistol STEEL SHOOT: jUnE 20 @ 9AM

Two dueling trees, a Texas Star, a steel Swinger and multiple plates equals a lot of reps and trigger time! Beyond that though you’ll identify where you can improve your pistol performance. Performance pistol shooting focuses on consistency with speed and accuracy under pressure. Improvement starts with mastering fundamentals: grip, sight alignment, and trigger control. Regular dry-fire practice can build muscle memory, but live-fire drills reinforce recoil management and shot timing. Track your performance to identify weaknesses, and incorporate movement and target transitions to simulate real scenarios. Consistency is key—train deliberately, maintain focus, and gradually increase difficulty to develop both precision and confidence. Round count is 350.

PRECISION RIFLE practice session: june 20

This is a half day rifle/pistol class working on your AR as your primary platform, with transitions to pistol as dictated by malfunctions, space limitations, or other factor. This is one of our flagship classes with no short cuts. You need rep after rep to build the correct muscle memory for efficiency in your drills from manipulations to transitions. This class will establish those skills and pathways. Round count is 250 rifle, 150 pistol.

PISTOL standards: JULY 11 @ 1 PM

Ben and Luke are leading this pistol “workshop” which will examine various pistol standards and the purpose behind them. We will identify the specific skills involved and how to train to attain and maintain those standards. There will be the chance to shoot various standards, cold and warm, and of course the idea along the way is to have fun while learning the areas of improvement specific to you. Round count is 300.

DEFENSIVE PISTOL

One of our flagship classes, combining movement, manipulation, dynamics, multiple target arrays and a blend of competitive and tactical techniques to vastly improve your shooting. Improving your performance is where reps, trigger time and experience meet to raise your training standards so that the following key areas improve: efficient presentation of your handgun on target, recoil management so you shoot more effectively, manipulation to keep your gun up and in the fight, and movement to engage targets from the most advantageous position while making yourself harder to hit. Bring safe handling skills and a knowledge of your firearm and you will be welcome to this class!

DEFENSIVE CARBINE

Taught by Ben, Jeremy or Tony, each bringing their own unique experience, these classes take the same principles from our Defensive Pistol series and apply those to rifle shooting. This is no ordinary line-shooting class, so expect to work from multiple barricade apertures, learn to move into and out of shooting positions, work in confined spaces, engage multiple target arrays and seamlessly keep your rifle in the fight - all while maintaining impeccable weapons safety and awareness.

Tony or Ben are your instructors here, both with a wealth of shotgun experience. This is a physically demanding class from maintaining perfect weapons safety all while moving and reloading. There is no doubt that shotgun requires the greatest input from the shooter to keep the platform fed and functioning, all while navigating complex target arrays and shooting positions..

LOW LIGHT PISTOL

Ambient lighting conditions are a game changer where your pistol skills are concerned. Building muscle memory and improving your single-hand shooting are just the start of making you an effective adversary in the dark. We run small low-light classes to ensure maximum trigger time for shooters, and use a combination of steel and paper targets along with barricades and other environmental factors to test your abilities and develop this crucial skill set.

BEGINNER HANDGUN

We’ve been hosting this class since our foundation, and there is no better introduction to shooting. We designed this class to be a progressive-stage development of the fundamental skills needed to safely shoot your handgun: firearms safety, manipulation, dry fire reps and live fire practice. Many of our beginner students have gone on to purchase their own firearms and from there have progressive through our intermediate class into our Defensive and Performance Pistol classes.

VEHICLE BASED DEFENSIVE PISTOL

Ask yourself where are you most likely to be when confronted with a life threatening situation. This class will introduce you to the particular challenges that come with operating within, around and outside vehicles. Taught by Ben or Mike, who each have a wealth of experience from operational deployment of these skill sets, you’ll look at how to set up your own vehicle, and move on to shooting techniques as they relate to the interior and exterior of vehicles.
