Step 1

You must go to Orange County Sherrif’s website and review and collect the required documentation for applying for your permit and write your good cause statement.. You must be a resident of Orange County to apply & currently own a handgun registered in you or your spouses name. Orange County issues a license that is good for the state of CA.

Print out This Livescan form here & take it to your local live scan location to be completed. Upload all of your collected documentation to the OCSD Portal here once you upload they may require further proof of residence or other supporting documentation.


step 3

Pass an OSCD approved training class and submit your certificate to the online portal above. At some point you will also conduct an interview with a deputy. Once all of that is completed you should receive your CCW if everything is accepted by the department.
